The Char Dham usually opens in late April or early May, making it the best time to visit Char Dham, and the temples typically close in October or November as winter approaches, which spikes the risk of natural calamities, inaccessibility, and high altitude sickness, making it a worse idea to go during these months of the year. Due to the challenging trails, many pilgrims often choose to do the Char Dham Yatra by helicopter, which is more convenient and comfortable for the elderly, physically unfit individuals, or the ones who can’t take up this demanding and challenging trek.
